Decontaminating the paint is necessary to remove the dirt that accumulates in the paint and that cannot be removed with normal washing alone. Mainly two methods are used for decontamination: chemical and mechanical.
In the mechanical method, plasticines or "clay bars" are used. Plasticines come in traditional ones, as well as polymers.
The chemical method is used to remove tar, metal particles and also minerals.
